ROLAND ORIA
FINE ART . SCENIC ART .
About the artist
A graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Roland Oria's fascination with the principles of classicism and realism has resulted in a creative body of work that is at once grand in scale yet intimate in viewing experience. While enjoying the dramatic qualities of charcoal, oil and acrylic, the award-winning artist tests traditional boundaries, creating mixed-media pieces that utilize unconventional materials such as asphalt, pearl, rust, archival newspaper and rubber. His work has been exhibited both in the United States and the United Kingdom, and is featured in private collections throughout the world.
Roland 's scenic art career has brought him award-winning projects completed for internationally acclaimed clients that include Good Morning America, Houston Grand Opera, Lyric Opera, Shakespeare Repertory, The Goodman Theater, Steppenwolf Theatre, Field Museum of Natural History, Museum of Contemporary Art, Shedd Aquarium, Museum of Science & Industry, Chicago Mayor’s Office, Conde Nast, Harpo Studios, Escada, Chanel, Giuliana Teso and ESPN.
